At home Kendall has dogs, cats, chickens and a tortoise.

Dr. Tanja van Loon

Veterinary Surgeon

Tanja, originally from The Netherlands, graduated as a veterinary surgeon in 2014 from Ghent University, Belgium. She joined Woodlands Veterinary Group in August 2020 as a small animal clinician, after having worked as a mixed/large animal vet.

Aside from emergency and critical care work, Tanja really enjoys working with exotics and the weird and wonderful. She currently has two pet rats, a few jarrariums, a coldwater tank and a multitude of plants.

Outside of work Tanja enjoys being creative (in a lot of different ways!) and keeping fit. She likes to be outdoors and loves travelling.

Chloe Thompson

Veterinary Surgeon

Chloe graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon from Bristol University and joined Woodlands Veterinary Group in September 2021 as a small animal general practice vet. She quickly developed a keen interest in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care work, and so decided to join the MiNight Vet team. She hopes to gain a further certificate in both Emergency & Critical Care and Small Animal Surgery in the future.

Chloe has two dogs herself – a German Shepard named Kevin and a Labrador named Douglas who love to cause chaos at home!

Outside of work Chloe enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also likes to keep fit by going to the gym regularly, as well as occasionally surfing and paddle boarding when the weather is nice.

Veterinary Nurses

Samantha Kevern RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Samantha qualified as an RVN in 2018 and has worked in a range of veterinary practices within Plymouth, doing both day shifts and out of hour shifts. She enjoys every aspect of veterinary nursing, especially being able to provide one to one care to patients.

Outside of work she enjoys going for walks on the moors and local beaches and doing crafting projects.

Fiona North RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Fiona qualified in 2012 and has since expanded her skills through orthopaedic nursing, head nursing and out of hours emergency critical care.

She has completed extra studies in surgical nursing and anaesthesia, which is where she loves to be most – out of hours nursing critical patients through surgery.

On her days off between the long nights, Fiona likes to get out running but nothing beats unwinding when out with her 4 terriers on the beach or up the moors. Fiona is hoping to complete her first ultra-marathon this year.

Jessica Randall BSc(Hons) RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Jessica joined MiNightVet in July 2022 after working at Seymour Vets for seven years, where she trained and qualified in 2020, her interests are emergency and critical care which she wanted more of, as part of her job again. She loves feline nursing and exotics.

At home she has three black cats, two mini Rex rabbits and three Guinea Pigs. In her spare time, she likes gardening, is crafty and creative and enjoys exploring the moors, woodlands, costal paths, beaches and river swimming.
