MiNightVet Bristol

MiNightVet Bristol is a small animal out of hours veterinary emergency service, welcoming dogs, cats, birds, exotics, poultry and small mammals. We are based in Whitchurch, Bristol providing emergency overnight and weekend care to clients.

Our service is also available to clients from other practices who have arranged this. Please see the list below to find out if your veterinary practice can use our service.

The MiNightVet team provide a dedicated emergency service with full-time night staff who will be alert and effective even at unsociable hours. The qualified vets and nurses have a special interest, experience and training in all aspects of urgent critical care.

Michael Maguire

Veterinary Surgeon

After graduating from the University of Bristol in 2010, Mike undertook a rotating internship at a teaching hospital before then working as a first opinion vet for a large practice in Somerset. It was during this time he developed a special interest in emergency and critical care and moved to work in a dedicated emergency service practice for a further three years, where he was involved in lecturing in ECC topics. Mike has gained a post graduate certificate in emergency and critical care and is currently applying for advanced practitioner status in ECC with the RCVS. He joined MiNightVet Bristol in June 2018 as one of the emergency night vets working at the Whitchurch hospital. Mike lives at home with a one-eyed Labrador called Odin and two cats, Riley and Derrick.

Laura completed the HND in veterinary nursing science at Hartpury (UWE) College and became a Registered Veterinary Nurse in April 2005. At home she has two cats; Tommy and Diego that were abandoned as tiny kittens and hand-reared, so both think they are human babies.

Stefanie Cox

Registered Veterinary Nurse
Stephanie joined the MiNightVet Bristol team based at Highcroft Veterinary Hospital in October 2018, after having previously worked as a night nurse in a small hospital in Oxfordshire. She has a particular interest in emergency and critical care nursing, and is currently working towards gaining her certificate in emergency and critical care nursing. At home Stephanie has two gorgeous cats called Rupert and Penny.
