MiNightVet Manchester

MiNightVet Manchester is a small animal out of hours veterinary emergency service, welcoming dogs, cats, birds, exotics, poultry and small mammals. Based in Worsley, Manchester providing emergency overnight and weekend care to clients.

Our service is also available to clients from other practices who have arranged this service. Please see the list below to find out if your veterinary practice can use our service.

The MiNightVet team provide a dedicated emergency service with full-time night staff who will be alert and effective even at unsociable hours. The qualified vets and nurses have a special interest, experience and training in all aspects of urgent critical care.

Roger has worked as a night vet for over 15 years. He enjoys his job at MiNightVet Manchester and the challenges it bring daily. Roger is currently studying for his certificate in emergency and critical care.

Katie joined us directly from Glasgow University in 2017. She has chosen to work across both the day and the MiNightVet teams here at PetMedics, bringing lots of varied, interesting cases. Katie enjoys all aspects of veterinary work.

Katie Hollingworth

Katie joined us in 2018 and comes with seven years experience working within veterinary out of hours. She assists in our teaching programme here in the hospital based in Worsley.

Margarita qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2009. She joined the MiNightVet Manchester team based in Worsely in December 2018 and enjoys the challenging cased which the night shift can bring.

Hayley Blaymires

RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Hayley qualified as a an RVN in 2009 from Myerscough College. She has been working at MiNightVet since 2014. She loves emergency work as two nights are never the same. Outside of work she is a busy mum to three children and is treasurer of her daughters’ schools’ PTA. Hayley has a menagerie of animals: Sally, Summer and Sugarpuff the sheep, a tortoise called Trevor, six ex-battery chickens, four ducks, Felix and Chloe the cats and two dogs called Bear and Lucy. Any spare time she may have is always spent having fun with her family.

Toni Madden

Registered Veterinary Nurse
Toni qualified as an RVN in 2016. Her goal was always to end up working in out of hours as she has always had a passion for emergency and critical care. She joined the MiNightVet Manchester team in April 2016 and has enjoyed every minute. Before working at here, she worked at an out of hours practice in Guildford. She is hoping to extend her knowledge and build upon her  nursing skills by undertaking the Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care in the near future. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her Boxer dog Ruby Tuesday. Toni also has a love for cocktails which she enjoys on her weekend off.

Julie Swindells

Registered Veterinary Nurse
Julie has worked in veterinary practice since 1997. She gained a distinction in an Animal Nursing Assistant course in 2004, then qualified as an RVN in 2007. She spent the first 10 years in a busy first opinion practice, then joined MiNightVet Manchester as part of the emergency night team for three years. Julie went back into general day practice as a Head Nurse and lectured in veterinary nursing to student veterinary nurses and animal care to school children. She completed level 4 PTTLLS teaching certificate, then ran a business providing BAER testing and microchipping for 10 years, privately and in practice. Julie provided locum services for over four years, then returned. She has a personal interest in hearing testing and statistics due to having Dalmatians, and currently owns Dalmatians, horses, pygmy goats, chickens, ducks and a tortoise.

Deborah Trotman

Registered Veterinary Nurse
Debbie has been nursing since 2009, and has undertaken various roles within that time – both in general practice and specialist referral. She particularly enjoys out of hours emergency work and the varied challenges this brings. Debbie joined MiNightVet Manchester after relocating back to the north west to be closer to family. She has two small children and a crazy Border Terrier and enjoys long walks through the Lancashire countryside in her spare time.

Carly Whittingham

Registered Veterinary Nurse
Carly qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse from Myerscough in 2006. She has worked with us at MiNightVet Manchester since 2007, and specialises in intensive care nursing. She is a highly experienced nurse, and she shares her knowledge with the student nurses on a regular basis. She has a dog called Taco, and two cats. Outside of work, she enjoys walking and movies.
