MiNightVet Canterbury

MiNightVet Canterbury is a small animal out of hours veterinary emergency service, welcoming dogs, cats and small mammals. We are based in Canterbury, Kent and provide emergency overnight and weekend care to clients.

Our service is also available to clients from other practices who have arranged this service. Please see the list below to find out if your veterinary practice can use our service.

The MiNightVet team provide a dedicated emergency service with full-time night staff who will be alert and effective even at unsociable hours. The qualified vets and nurses have a special interest, experience and training in all aspects of urgent critical care.

Naomi qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2007 and joined the MiNightVet team in January 2021. She has a particular interest in emergency and critical care and completed a BSAVA certificate in this field in March 2019. Outside of work, Naomi is kept busy by her two young children, walking her dog (a Jack Russell called Milo), and attempting to stay fit with running and cycling.

Claudia graduated from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2003 and has been practicing in the UK since 2005. She has a particular interest in emergency and critical care and has been working in this field for over 15 years. Claudia has two Bassets, two children and a husband that keep her busy when off work.

Nazaret qualified from Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, in 2014. She joined the Barton Veterinary Hospital and Surgery team in 2018. Nazaret has a particular interest in emergency and critical care, soft tissue surgery and ophthalmology. Nazaret has two rescue cats called Katsu Curry and Trufa. Outside of work she likes to travel and dance bachata.

Sally has worked in a variety of small animal first opinion practices in Kent over the past six years, and qualified in her late thirties as an RVN from College of Animal Welfare in April 2019. She joined the daytime team with Barton Veterinary Hospital & Surgery in February 2020, and subsequently took the onwards step to join their new MiNightVet team launching at the start of 2021 to continue a keen interest in inpatient care. Other special interests include wound management and communication within practice. She lives in rural Kent with her partner, their working cocker spaniel Henry, two outdoor cats and four indoor cats including a very ‘characterful’ Cornish Rex called Fig.

Hannah was a student nurse at Barton Veterinary Hospital and Surgery, and attended Writtle College in Essex. She qualified in May 2014 and started work providing out of hours emergency care which is what she enjoys most. In her spare time Hannah likes long walks with her two children and French Bulldog Enid.

Laura started at Barton Veterinary Hospital in 2017 as a student, qualifying in 2019. Outside of work, Laura enjoys walking her four rescue dogs and riding her rescue horse.

Carly joined Barton Veterinary Hospital and Surgery in 2007 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2011. She worked as Head Nurse in a local first opinion practice and has now decided to join the MiNightVet team to follow her passion of emergency and critical care. Carly has a rescued geriatric beaded dragon and marine fish at home. Outside of work Carly loves spending time with her family and raising her young daughter.
